Rock Academy is a school holiday music initiative for teenagers established in 2015. Currently staged in Melbourne and on the Mornington Peninsula, Rock Academy features established artists mentoring teenage musicians as they rehearse a cover song and write an original song to perform on a real rock stage.
Rock Academy Melbourne has been a passionate supporter of PBOB since legendary musician Phil Ceberano first joined us on the judging panel in 2023. His business partner, Alan Long, was also in the room. Together, they’ve been championing our mission ever since.
Each year, Rock Academy generously sponsors a prize for the Southside and Northside Heats, awarded to the school whose parent band draws the biggest crowd — that is, sells the most tickets!
The winning school receives a Rock Academy Scholarship, gifted to a deserving Year 6 student to support their musical journey the following year. It's a meaningful way to reward community effort with real music opportunity.
We’re incredibly grateful to Alan, Phil, and the Rock Academy team for investing in the next generation of musicians — and for keeping the spirit of live music alive in our schools.
Ferguson Plarre’s Bakehouse brings serious heart (and sweet treats) to PBOB! Their generous support helps us reward community engagement — with voucher prizes for schools that rally the biggest crowds. We’re proud to partner with a beloved business (thanks to one of our passionate PBOB musicians) that shares our passion for bringing people together and backing kids’ access to music education.
Brand Music is a team of composers, musicians, artists, and producers united by a shared love of music and branding. With a deep appreciation for the power of sound — from iconic jingles to cinematic scores — their work has been heard in stadiums, cinemas, and across international TV and radio.
Thanks to a talented PBOB alumni musician, Brand Music created a custom jingle just for us, bringing our energy and mission to life on radio. We’re thrilled to have their creative support and love what they’ve crafted for PBOB!
We’re proud to have Oztix as our official ticketing partner. Beyond powering smooth ticketing for our events, they go above and beyond to help PBOB grow and thrive.
For every ticket sold to our self-promoted events, Oztix generously donates $1 back to PBOB, directly supporting school music programs. They also help us scout new venues and provide pro bono audience engagement services, strengthening our impact and reach.
We’re deeply grateful for their partnership and shared commitment to keeping music education alive and accessible.
A huge thank you to our venue partners for waiving their hire fees and helping us put more funds directly into school music programs. Your generosity allows us to stage unforgettable nights of live music while keeping the focus where it belongs — on kids and community.
