PBOB is an Australian Registered Charity that uses the power of music to build community, strengthen social connection, and enhance individual and collective wellbeing.
We create impact across all generations by bringing people together through events: Parents Battle of the Bands. Parent musicians step on stage and spark creativity, joy, and belonging, and all ticket sale proceeds are donated back to primary school music programs.
Our mission: to put music back in the daily rhythm of life through live events that reconnect people and celebrate what’s possible when communities come alive through music.

Join us for annual live music events in YOUR neighbourhood:
Parents Battle Of the Bands.
All proceeds from these nights of performances are donated back to participating schools' music programs. To date, we have staged shows featuring over 300 parent musicians, contributed more than $150k to music education, and engaged over 15,000 children. 1 — Creating Connection
Parents and carers build real community through music—tapping into its positive impact on wellbeing, reconnecting with play, and rediscovering their own creativity.
2 — Kids’ Growth
Access to music programs boosts children’s cognitive, social, and emotional development. We’re seeing young bands emerge in school communities across the country, inspired by the adults modelling creativity and courage on stage.
3 — Boosting the Creative Industries
PBOB fills venues—often selling out—and helps energise local music ecosystems by bringing new audiences and community into the room.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Your school is a public primary school.
- The band members are all parents or carers of children enrolled at the primary school at the date of the battle.
Please note that school staff are not eligible unless they are also parents. Exception requests or questions regarding participation are welcome and will be considered by the PBOB board on a case-by-case basis. Contact us!
